Hello Board, As a reminder, we have an in-person Board meeting after the Unit Game this Sunday. The meeting starts at 4:15pm. Please find the minutes from our last meeting below. A pdf version is also attached. Miriam (Co-Secretary) ACBL UNIT 559 BOARD MEETING MINUTES March 2, 2026 By Zoom The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by President Lisa Walker. Also present were Gloria Rommel, Jon Fuhrman, Kim Ebner, Laurie Silton, Melanie Moran, Michael Marcucci, Miriam Angel, Pat Luehrs, Sherna Foucher, Sherry Hansen, and Toban Toban. 1. A motion was made by Jon Fuhrman and seconded by Gloria Rommel to approve the minutes from the 1/12/26 meeting. The motion passed unanimously. 2. A financial statement was presented by interim Treasurer Mike Marcucci. 3. The Board welcomed new members Michael Marcucci, Melanie Moran, Miriam Angel, and Sherna Foucher. Returning Board members are Gloria Rommel, Jon Fuhrman, Kim Ebner, Laurie Silton, Lisa Walker, Pat Luehrs, Sherry Hansen, and Toban Toban. Gratitude was expressed for the work of departing Board members Kathy Cresto, Liza Billington, Miriam Harrington, and Michael Rodriguez. 4. Board officer and other positions were assigned and approved. Lisa Walker will return as President. Gloria Rommel will be Vice President. Miriam Angel and Melanie Moran will share Secretary duties. Pat Leuhrs and Gloria Rommel will retain their previous positions as Publicity and Friendship Chair, respectively. Sherna Foucher is the new Membership Chair. The Unit Reporter will be Mojo since he regularly writes a newsletter that is posted on the Pasadena Bridge Club website and emailed to interested members. Lisa Walker will continue as Unit Tournament Director. Lisa Walker and John Jones will be District Representatives. 5. Sherna Foucher will contact Kathy Cresto for Membership Chair materials and guidance. 6. Members discussed who would create flyers for Unit Games, Sectionals, and Holiday Parties, a task previously done by departing member Kathy Cresto. Pat Luehrs made a motion to ask Kathy to continue creating flyers, with an offer of free Unit Games for a year as compensation. Sherry Hansen seconded the motion. The motion passed, 11 in favor, 1 opposed. 7. Some members stated that they have not been receiving Pat Luehrs’ emails regarding Unit Games. Pat will investigate. 8. Election Party feedback was that the food was great but there was a bit too much of it. 9. This year’s Sectional will be August 22nd and 23rd at the Pasadena Bridge Club. A sanction and reservation of the second room have been approved. Members are asked to help set up beforehand and clean up afterward. Specific plans will be discussed at an upcoming Board meeting. 10. Lisa will talk to Mojo about the possibility of including a 499er (non-Life Master) section to Unit Games. 11. The Holiday Party will be Sunday, December 6, 2026 at the Pasadena Bridge Club. 12. Unit Games are typically scheduled for the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month. The second March game will be March 29th instead of the 15th, due to a scheduling conflict with the Robert Todd seminar. 13.
