Hello, friends, As you know, Kathy, Marie and Mary Downey have been working on a new roster for us, but unfortunately Mary will not be available for some time, and neither Marie nor Kathy know how to format the roster for submission to a printer. I have done it numerous times, but to tell the truth I really don’t want to do it again! I propose that I create a printable version of the membership roster on our website. This is updated monthly by the ACBL. That way, any member who wants or needs it can always print an up-to-date copy. There are a number of benefits for this idea…. First is the savings in printer cost, which is several thousand dollars every two years, and since the roster is printed in two year intervals, they soon becomes obsolete. Finally, making a new one every two years is a lot of work! Let’s make this change and never publish another roster. I would like one request, though, if you accept this idea…. long ago the board voted to allow me to play for free in the unit games, which I greatly appreciate! Might I have that privilege be granted to my partner-of-the-day also? I’ve played bridge more than half my life. The lesser half I wasted.

Mary Downey

I just spoke with Mary Falvey who informed me that Mary Downey fell in her home earlier and broke her hack. She is in Huntington Hospital Rm E532. Can the board send her flowers since she has done a lot of work non gratis for the board?

Re: Holiday Party

Quite frankly I think what might be nicer is something more bridge related. I love when I go to tournaments and people have their unit name tags on. Or a bridge bag customized to carry bridge things. I’m ok with the pencils with the unit on them but I have 100 pencils here. I wonder how much those name tags are. Board Meeting

Dear Board, We will need to have a meeting before the Holiday Party. Can you all be available on Monday October 30th at 7 PM for a Zoom meeting? Michael, if you have some financials, we need to see them or at least get a verbal update on what is going on. I have the minutes already from the last meeting. I have ordered the food for the taco truck and put a deposit down. We need to talk about drinks and dessert, and need volunteers to chair that. Also, we need to know what tablecloths we have and decorations we have. Michael, I think you have them in storage. Also, do we want to have a raffle or any kind of gift for the members?
