I have read and absorbed all the various opinions on charging more for non-ACBL members for our sectional. Our sectional is in 10 days and we did not discuss this before advertising it. In my humble opinion, it is too late to change the parameters, whatever we may FEEL. So i suggest we leave it as it is and next year, that Board can decide what it would like to do and advertise it as such. Lisa Sent from my iPad

Fwd: John Waken sectional tournament

Alas I'm unprepared to answer this question! We should either require ACBL membership, or charge $18 or so for non-ACBL members. Please let me know as it might determine my partner for one of the days. Kim

A bit more…

Besides, if we charge $18 for non-members is that really going to have an effect on our income? You know the answer… Do we need those extra couple of dollars at the cost of being non-welcoming? If the board votes to charge extra for non-members please send me the bill and I will send you a check for the amount of the overage, but Friends, let’s not be petty. Roy I’ve played bridge more than half my life. The lesser half I wasted.

Does the flyer need to be updated? for publicity email
by Morris Jones 15 Jul '24

It's time to get out a widely circulated publicity email about the sectional. At Adam's urging, I created a reservation form that doesn't involve RSVP. I asked some people to try it a few days ago, but got not takers. Use this link for people to make reservations: https://pasadenabridgeclub.com/contact/sectional_reservation Please help me test the form by making a fake reservation. (You can tell me it's fake in the message part.) When you send the email on Pianola, don't just send it to our unit! Send it to a 75 mile radius. People travel for sectionals. Dear Board, Just a reminder that we are meeting this evening by Zoom at 7 PM. MoJo will send out the link. Miriam, I have not seen the financials yet? Is it possible to get them before the meeting. EVeryone should have the agenda and minutes. See you all then. I do not anticipate a long meeting. Lisa Sent from my iPad
