I am looking for 32 people willing to waste a Saturday with me.
On Saturday June 6th, I will be testing a method of running Swiss Teams
in BBO. I need eight teams of four, to play in this test.
For this test:
1. Teams are limited to four players. (Teams of five or six will be
allowed in real events.
2. Players will sit the same direction in all three rounds. (In the real
events, you will be able to make blind changes. But you won't get to
pick your opponents.)
3. Rounds will start at a specific time: Round one at 10am. Round two at
11:30, and Round three at 1pm. All eight players in a match must be
online at start time and not playing in any other BBO event.
4. Each rounds will be 8 boards scored on the 20 point VP scale, with
the clock set for six minutes a board. If this works we will increase
the boards to what most players can do in one hour. (Then a thirty
minute break while the director sets up the next match.)
5. Masterpoints will be club rated and come from ACBL, not BBO.
6. There will be no charge, because the whole thing could crash
horribly; I'd look like an idiot and you'd have wasted a Saturday
morning. (Besides, I currently have no way to collect money from you.)

If more than eights team apply, I will take the eight teams with the
fewest Masterpoints. As it is important we discover how easy it is for
players to learn this method of team games. So I want to use the least
experienced players I can get. I will reply with more detailed instructions.

District 23/Unit 556 sponsor several District wide games for limited
players on BBO.
They are:
Sundays 499er at 3:15.
Wednesday 749er at 6:45
Thursday 299er at 6:15
Each game is 18 boards at 7 minutes a board.
Because this is a district wide limited event each players MUST:
1. be ACBL members,
2. be under 750, 500, or 300 points (depending on the game),
3. have their ACBL number linked to their BBO account,
4. have money in their BBO account,
5. not log in as invisible,
6. be on the District 23/Unit 556+ friends list.
You get on Unit 556's friends list by emailing whitetrash50(a)verizon.net, at
least a day in advance:
Your name, ACBL number, BBO_ID
Partner's name, ACBL number, BBO_ID
Both ACBL numbers must be linked into your BBO accounts.
At least an hour before game time.
Find: District 23 3:15pm XXXer - 18bds/7min
in the list of Virtual ACBL Clubs, click on the game, not the director. At
that time you invite your partner and pay $4.00 for your event. Note, your
partner must be online at the same time as you invite them.
BBO will verify ACBL membership and masterpoints at registration. You can
not register for the game more than two hours before the game. If blocked,
text me with any error messages you receive at: 661-886-1940.

Unit 556+ Virtual Club objective is to allow our players an opportunity to
play with friends from their local club. The social aspects of bridge
cannot be understated. Everyone could have played in Speedball games or
Support Your Club (SYC) games, but a large majority of our players want to
play with the people whom they know.
As a private club, we are not required to allow anyone into our Virtual
Club Game who is not a member. You each may occasionally (once a month)
invite a friend to play with you. All such requests must be made to the
club manager. There is a strict limit of the number of guests allowed in
each game that must be adhered to or we jeopardize our ability to run
online games.
