Beginning Bridge /in person/!
I think it's time to get back into the bridge club and class rooms and
kitchen tables and offer beginning bridge again. As fun as it is to play
bridge online, I think the only way to truly grow the game is through
classes and games offered in person.
When better than September? Pass this along to your curious friends!
These classes are intended for people who have never before played
bridge, but they're also a great way to refresh the fundamentals for
those who might have played a little and set it aside.
I have two classes to choose from:
Saturday mornings
* Arcadia Bridge Center, 333 N. Santa Anita Ave., Arcadia
* 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
* Six classes, first class September 10
* First class free, try bridge for yourself!
* $70 for all six classes, including text book
* /Reply to this email/ to reserve your seat
Wednesday evenings
* Arcadia High School, administered by PCC Extension
* 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
* Six classes, first class September 14
* Class fee $75, plus $12 materials fee (for text book) payable in class

Popular conventions
In the PCC Extension catalog I also have /Bridge Basics - Popular
Conventions/ available for sign ups.
This five-week course will cover the most popular and useful conventions
for new bridge players: Stayman, Jacoby Transfer Bids, strong opening
bids, and slam bidding.
Of course, it wouldn't be an Audrey Grant course without plenty of tips
for declarer play and defense as well!
* Arcadia High School, administered by PCC Extension
* 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
* Five classes, first class October 26
* Class fee $69, plus $12 materials fee (for text book) payable in class

I'm looking for a bridge club
Many of you might recall that in March 2020 I was on the verge of
building a *full-time* bridge club in Pasadena. You certainly know how
that turned out!
I'm ready to try again. I have a partner and lots of people who are
clamoring for this. The Pasadena Bridge Club needs to come to life.
We're currently in a search for commercial space where we would be
welcome (2,500-3,500 sq. ft. or so) within Pasadena. I'd love to be in
Old Town or the Playhouse District, but will consider almost anywhere
attractive.
My intention is to build a /destination bridge club/. My target isn't so
much to serve the existing bridge players, but to have a space that will
be attractive to people who don't yet play the game. It should be a
comfortable location where people want to spend time together, with
beginner and intermediate classes offered continuously.
It may not even be just bridge. Think chess, mahjong, canasta, .... (And
the existing bridge players are bound to come play, too!)
*If you have a lead* on space that might be available, please let me know!
Please let me know <https://bridgemojo.com/contact> if you're no longer
interested in bridge class news from me! I'll update my mailing list.
Best regards,
Mojo, Jane, and Dragon 🐈
