With Labor Day behind us, now is usually the time when people start
making plans for fall and winter activities.
If you have friends who've considered learning to play, now is a good
time to sign up for Bridge I through PCC Extension. The first class is
Wednesday, Sept. 12, 7:00 p.m. at Arcadia High School. Here's the class
page for online signups: http://goo.gl/3aZ5g
It's also a great class if you want to improve your bidding fundamentals!
I also have the BridgeMojo "Social Bridge" email list. If you're looking
to play or host bridge at home with players and students around your own
level, you may want to join this small email list. Messages to
"social(a)bridgemojo.com" will be copied to everyone on the list. Here's
the signup link: http://mail.bridgemojo.com/mailman/listinfo/social
One last thing I'd like to mention: The ACBL holds three national
tournaments every year, each lasting about ten days. The North American
Bridge Championships this fall are being held in San Francisco, Nov. 22
through Dec. 2, at the lovely Marriott downtown. They have a special
room rate and more information available at http://www.acbl.org/nabc/
If it seems silly for me to be suggesting a trip to the bridge
"nationals," note that nearly every afternoon and evening they have 0-5
newcomer pairs games. Newcomers play free, with a game and lesson, on
Saturday, Nov. 24.
Just in case you were looking for an excuse to visit San Francisco. :)
Hope to see you soon!
Best regards,
Mojo
