We have a "casual bridge" session on Friday afternoon from 3-5. A lot of things can be done while they're playing, and I don't see the need to cancel it. At 5:00, I'll start working on changing the main club to the 19-table configuration. I might be able to start setting up the Community Room before then, but that depends on it not being in use by another group. I'm going to try for 13-14 tables in the community room, with 8-1/2-foot spacing. I have the hand records for the Saturday games, so after that I'll be making up eight sets of boards for the morning. I might be able to do a few during the Casual Bridge session. :) Mojo -- build message Morris "Mojo" Jones mojo(a)PasadenaBridgeClub.com https://PasadenaBridgeClub.com <https://pasadenabridgeclub.com> Pasadena Bridge Club <https://pasadenabridgeclub.com>

Unit items

Good morning all. The dealing machine that the unit owns is at the club. The boards that were purchased were given away when Diane closed her club bc they were in bad shape. The bridgemates and bidding boxes are at the club. All is accounted for. We never decided on the dates for expanded lunches. Do you want to make it the first Sunday of the month? If so, who would like to do September? We forgot to talk about changing the game time on the 16th to 11:30. I have to ask mojo because it changes the sanction of the game. Currently we hold a sanction for Sunday afternoon only. I’ll get back to you on it. Thanks for hanging out yesterday. Lisa Sent from my iPhone

Holiday Party
by Lisa Walker 08 Jul '26

08 Jul '26

Good morning Board, Just wanting some clarification on our Holiday Party. We had settled on December 6, 2026 as our Holiday Party, which is the first Sunday and a Unit game day. I want to send in the application for the Community Room but double checked that Nationals in San Diego ends on that day. Do you think it’s a conflict and we should change the date by one week? Unfortunately, the following Sunday is the start of Palm Springs! What are your thoughts so I can reserve the room for us? Also, just to verify that we are holding two unit games in August on the 2nd and the 16th, as well as the sectional on the 22/23? Any issues with this, Mojo?? Lisa

Not sure how many people will be in San Diego until the bitter end which is that Sunday. Either weekend is fine by me, each obviously with potential conflicts with the mentioned tournaments. But I think as you get deeper into December, schedules get filled up and it won’t get any better. I guess it’s just better to go with what we normally would do > On Jul 7, 2026, at 9:40 AM, Lisa Walker <lisawalkerlac(a)gmail.com> wrote: > > Good morning Board, > > Just wanting some clarification on our Holiday Party. Request for Board Approval
by Lisa Walker 30 Jun '26

30 Jun '26

Good morning, Board, As you may or may not know, Erik Holdo, Charo’s son has offered to host a game on Monday July 20th in honor of Charo. He will be pickingup all the card fees for that day. In addition, Lulu is coming in to teach a class in the morning and Mojo has reserved the community room for that event. We are antidcipating 19 tables of bridge for that day. We already have 9 tables one month in advance. Mojo has asked if the Unit will pay for a Vallarta lunch for the players that day. The cost will be approximately $400. Since we do not have a Board meeting prior to this event, I am asking for your vote by email. I need Board approval for this, with a positive vote of at least 7 members to approve. Pease email back your thoughts on this ASAP so I can let Mojo know. Many thanks, Lisa
