Tuesday evening bridge game!
by Morris Jones 30 Mar '21

30 Mar '21

Let's do it again! I'm not expecting the eight tables we had last week, but we'll certainly have enough players for a fun bridge game. This is who all attended last week, and I've heard from many of you about returning. So please *reply and let me know*: 1. Yes I want to play and my partner is ... !, or 2. Yes, I'd like to play in the future, but not March 30 3. Thanks but that's ok. :) (I'll take you off of this mailing list.) As a refresher, here are the partnerships we had last Tuesday evening: Beth Hollander Sara Shapiro Carol Callaghan Rick Brezer John Horn Linda Burrow Laurie Howard Rosanne Ogles Shirley Dostal Vicki Davis Susan Kane Jon Fuhrman Jane Houston Jones Christina Eickholt Liza Billington Cory Brendel Galina Diankova Tsvetelina Valkov Arvind Bhambri Farryl Weitzman Denise Loo Gargi Upadhyaya Mark Irvine Noel Jeffrey Cindy Fang Selby Winkler Dean Park Marilyn Park Duke Gregory Joan Habin Suzanne Gati Xiaoyan Zhou Best regards, Mojo -- Morris Jones, Monrovia, CA BridgeMojo <http://bridgemojo.com> Old Town Sidewalk Astronomers <http://otastro.org> Mojo's Blog <http://mojo.whiteoaks.com>

Hi Mojo, I'd like to sign up for your Tuesday evening classes and am happy to pay for all four sessions. Seating chart, game link, Zoom link

For tonight, we have a huge turnout! With this being a brand new platform, I anticipate most of our problems will be in figuring out where everything is. Take a moment to use the *Settings gear wheel* after you get seated. I especially recommend the "Simplified cards" setting. :) *The session will open at 6:45.* Game time at 7:15 or when everyone arrives, whichever comes first! Here is the link to join *tonight's game*: https://play.realbridge.online/cs.html?p=210323129363&q=PlaynHpmcM0brqwB Here is the link for the *Zoom after party*: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84142867296?pwd=cnFGOWhvbjQrQ29UMy9TWGFaZmVxQT09 Meeting ID: 841 4286 7296 Passcode: 507368 When you log in with your full name (no ID number), please take your seat according to this seating chart: Table 1 N/S Beth Hollander Sara Shapiro E/W Carol Callaghan Rick Brezer 2 N/S John Horn Linda Burrow E/W Laurie Howard Rosanne Ogles 3 N/S Shirley Dostal Vicki Davis E/W Susan Kane Jon Fuhrman 4 N/S Jane Houston Jones Christina Eickholt E/W Liza Billington Cory Brendel 5 N/S Galina Diankova Tsvetelina Valkov E/W Arvind Bhambri Farryl Weitzman 6 N/S Denise Loo Gargi Upadhyaya E/W Mark Irvine Noel Jeffrey 7 N/S Cindy Fang Selby Winkler E/W Dean Park Marilyn Park 8 N/S Duke Gregory Joan Habin E/W Suzanne Gati Xiaoyan Zhou I hope this all works! :) Let's have some fun! Players for tonight's game
by Morris Jones 23 Mar '21

23 Mar '21

Here's who I've heard from so far about playing tonight! Are you not on this list? Let me know! I'll be pairing up partners using a random draw this afternoon. Single Players Pairs Christina Eickholt Beth Hollander Sara Shapiro Denise Loo Carol Callaghan Rick Brezer Farryl Weitzman John Horn Linda Burrow Gargi Upadhyaya Laurie Howard Rosanne Ogles Noel Jeffrey Shirley Dostal Vicki Davis Shelly Peretz Susan Kane Jon Fuhrman Meanwhile here's lots of information about RealBridge! *Later today I will send you a link* that will open a login screen. Use your full name, and leave the ID number blank: Once you join, you'll see an array of tables. I'll be sending a seating chart for the first round soon. Seat yourself at your assigned seat: There's a settings wheel: I recommend using the settings wheel and selecting Simplified Cards, unless you really like the fancy ones!: Here are important A/V controls. Use these to hide your video or mute your microphone: Using these controls you can hide the other players' video. On the right is the important *redial button* that will reset your A/V connection. This often solves missing audio or video problems at the table: For a full player guide to RealBridge, see their player guide here: https://realbridge.online/player-guide.html Best regards, Mojo -- Morris Jones, Monrovia, CA BridgeMojo <http://bridgemojo.com> Old Town Sidewalk Astronomers <http://otastro.org> Mojo's Blog <http://mojo.whiteoaks.com>

About this Tuesday's bridge game
by Morris Jones 20 Mar '21

20 Mar '21

Hey, I have about 20 people who've expressed an interest in our social duplicate games on Tuesday evening! I'm about to invite more, and I wanted you all to know how this is going to work. We're using a platform that most of you haven't seen yet, called RealBridge. It's from the UK, and it includes audio and video integrated with the game table. You'll be able to see and hear your partners and opponents. Because we're going to be learning about how it all works, *this Tuesday's game is free*, with no obligations to continue! Let's get together, try it out, figure where all the knobs and buttons are, and learn how to work the machine. We might get to play some bridge, too. :) RealBridge works best on devices with a large screen, such as a desktop or laptop computer. It also works on an iPad, and I'm advised that RealBridge works somewhat more reliably with the Chrome browser than it does with Safari. *There is no app to install.* On Tuesday afternoon, I will send everyone a URL link that will connect you with our game in your browser. I haven't decided if I will send one link to everyone, or have a personalized link that will log you in to the game, but I'll be working on that for the next day or two. To get a feel of how it works, look here: https://realbridge.online/ To test your camera and mic to be sure they work okay, look here: https://play.realbridge.online/camera.html I'll have more for you soon!
