We might also ask for volunteers who would also be willing to play with a newcomer or partner with them.

Part of that information is the names of new players who have joined our unit and also the names of players who have transferred into our unit. You can imagine how difficult it might be for these players to find a new partner. I propose that we appoint someone as Ambassador to contact them and offer to play with them as a means to help them find a regular partner. The cost? How about we pay the Ambassador’s card fees? Or, we might ask Diane if she would be willing to waive the cost. Would it be too much to offer a free play one time for the new player?

She never lost her interest, though, and has recently returned to the game as a fill-in at the Bridge Center. I asked if she would be willing to take this position and she was enthusiastic about it. Are we? Aye or Nay?
