Thanks Lisa. We have the tablecloths and the Taco Guys furnish the napkins, plates and utensils so we don’t have that expense. No, I don’t want to bring food to Unit Games and I was the one who suggested stopping that practice! I say book the Taco Guy and Community Center. I’ll touch bases with the other committee members to coordinate drinks, desserts, centerpieces and whatever else is needed._______________________________________________AngelaSent from my iPhoneOn Sep 15, 2023, at 8:25 AM, Angela Peters <angela.peters48@gmail.com> wrote:Looking at my calendar I noticed that December 10 is the last day of a STaC week. If we run the game as a STaC game, fees will be higher and we should charge accordingly.AngelaSent from my iPhoneOn Sep 14, 2023, at 11:31 PM, Angela Peters <angela.peters48@gmail.com> wrote:What supplies were bought that cost $277? Tablecloths? Also, I would like to lower the price to $25/person...a holiday gift to our members. They already complain about the lack of food at the Unit Games and many thought the price was too high last year. Don’t we have enough in the budget to cover the deficit? Maybe we can get donations for desserts and drinks? Perhaps the Christmas Party Committee should meet and brainstorm cost saving strategies.AngelaSent from my iPhoneOn Sep 14, 2023, at 8:27 PM, Michael Rodrigues via Unit559board <unit559board@bridgemojo.com> wrote:I propose we keep the fee @35 per person. It is as follows—Arcadia Community Center Cost $541.00Sanction Fees 120.25Director 200.00Centerpieces 48.55Supplies 277.15Food 1,278.44TOTAL 2,465.39Our income from the party last year charging $35/person was $2625.00so our net income last year was $159.61.This year we are contemplating using the Taco Guy, estimate for 100 people is $1578.This does not include dessert and drinks. The reason for the food increase I believe is that we were pricing box lunches which are more expensive than getting sandwich trays and salad bowls. I believe my Green Street bill last year was around $900 and the rest was dessert and drinks. So it is significantly more expensive to use either box launches or the Taco Guy. Both are inviting because they remove the work from us.So here are my questions, and if you could take the time to answer them, it would be helpful—1. MoJo, has there been an increase in the director fee for this year?2. Arcadia Center is the same price and I assume that sanctions will be around the same. Last year I think we had 18 tables, which is 72 people. We could lower the number of people for the Taco Guy to 75 which will cut that cost.3. I believe Jan still has the tablecloths from last year, but I will have to check with her so that cuts out that cost.4. Do you think it’s realistic to expect around 18 tables this year?If we charge $30/person and have 18 tables, here is the breakdownArcadia 541.Director 200supplies 250Food ` 1200Sanction 130Des/Dri 200TOTAL 2521.0072@$30 2160.00We would be at a negative $361.00 but I think we have the funds and our unit members would be grateful and we might even get more people. Can you give me your opinions on whether we should go ahead with this or do the same thing we did last year?Lisa_______________________________________________Unit559board mailing list -- unit559board@bridgemojo.comTo unsubscribe send an email to unit559board-leave@bridgemojo.com
