Learn to play bridge online
Click
here for full class information and registration links
Working with PCC Extension, we've moved our popular Bridge
Basics courses online. All three courses are now available
for registration, with Bridge - Introduction
holding its first class on Tuesday evening, August 25.
I'm offering all three popular courses on Tuesday
evenings. Introduction will be followed by Popular
Conventions starting October 6, and Competitive
Bidding on November 10.
These courses are a bargain for online learning, just $75
for the six-week Introduction course, plus a fee for the
text book if you don't already have it.
The really interesting part is how the online tools for
bridge give new insights and visibility into the game that
just can't be achieved in a classroom with tables and
cards!
Forward this note to your friends who might like to learn
to play bridge.
Newcomers game continuing on
Wednesday evenings
While the classes are great fun, what's really fun is
meeting your favorite partner and playing the game!
We've had a great turnout for our special newcomer bridge
games on Wednesday evenings at 7:15. We play 12 hands, and
meet on Zoom after the game to celebrate our victories and
defeats, and discuss how the more interesting hands could
be bid and played.
Games are $5 each on Bridge Base Online (https://www.bridgebase.com).
Drop me a reply if you'd like to join the fun!
We usually have lots of single players, so let me know if
I might find you a partner.
Saturday morning mini lessons
Every Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. we have a non-Life
Master (0-500) game on BBO, and recently I started the
first of a 15-minute mini bridge lesson at 9:30 a.m.
Right now I'm doing a series of topics on the subject of
defender card play. These sessions are on Zoom, they're
free, and anyone anywhere is welcome to join in.
If you're on the email list for the virtual bridge club or
the Wednesday night games, I'll be sending a Zoom
invitation on Friday before each class, and mention the
topic for the day.
