I am in agreement, Miriam. It will cost us more in the future to have these unit games and things are going to have to shift, and our director should not bear the brunt of this._______________________________________________I always pay $10 to play at the 750 Club in Woodland Hills and there is never lunch. And the game is huge, usually over 20 tables every day. So we just need to get people used to paying more. If there are special needs related to finances, I would think the board would be willing to look at those on an individual basis.LisaOn Apr 10, 2021, at 2:11 PM, Miriam Harrington via Unit559board <unit559board@bridgemojo.com> wrote:Hi. My thinking is to charge $10 per person, although I'm sure there will be objections to this fee without lunch, and keep Marie at $200. This will hopefully have us close to breaking even on the Unit games, where for many years we lost money regularly. Miriam_______________________________________________

Ah, now with history finally rooted out, gives perspective. I am fine with keeping the fee the same.On Saturday, April 10, 2021, 8:47:26 AM PDT, janet wickersham <wickershamjanet@gmail.com> wrote:Believe fees for Unit games are $10.00/. That seems about right. Thank you for correcting me on the $150.00. We may need to operate at a loss for now as we get things moving again.

_______________________________________________Folks,My 2 cents to the conversation.First what is the 'normal' fee for a director in these type of games?, by that I mean small groups - 12- 20 tables. My experience helping with the Monthly Unit games - lots of people volunteer (uncompensated) for their efforts, and everyone is eager to help make for a successful experience. The board members volunteer to get the food, and find the most delicious food at the lowest cost possible. They do not charge for the cost of gas to get this possible. Of course we do get it delivered and tip the person who delivers it.Again my experience, collecting the fees, either $8 or $10 depending on the unit game function, I found that a number of people (not everyone) seemed not happy. Then there were people who did not eat the food for whatever the reason. I was kind of confused as to what the problem, was with respect to the fee, my personal opinion is that this was not a big cost, given that (in my opinion) these people are fairly affluent, but again I may be way out of line.Back to the question of the fee for the Director- obviously any game that is held, needs to collect enough funds to pay for the cost of holding the game.I will stop hereRegards and all stay safeMichaelOn Friday, April 9, 2021, 09:51:30 PM PDT, Lisawalker <lisawalkerlac@sbcglobal.net> wrote:We actually did talk about $150 at the meeting, not less than that. I don’tknow what directors typically are paid for one session, but I would be more on board with charging more to the players, like $1 more per person than giving our director less money. Certainly not less than $150. We pay $5 per person to play virtual club games on line so it should cost more to play face to face bc of facility rentals and the amount of work involved.
But even at say $7 per person (and I pay $10 per person to play at the 750 club) and having 12 tables, that is only about $350 total so with Diane charging $200 and Marie even at $150, we lose money. Maybe we really need to think about increasing card fees.
That is my 3 cents.
