Hey all, I hope you're doing well. Jane and I are healthy and enjoying life at home right now. I've been doing some astronomy as well as bridge projects.

Bridge, of course, has all moved online. There's a good chance that most clubs will have difficulty opening this year. I've postponed my own planned Pasadena Bridge Club to about January, unless something miraculous happens between now and then.

I'd like to offer an online seminar using Zoom that can get you started with playing bridge on BridgeBase Online (BBO).

The ACBL has been trying to move as many clubs as it can on to "Virtual Bridge Clubs" on BBO. Indeed I have a new sanction from ACBL for a "Virtual Bridge Club" to service the players in three adjacent units, centered on Pasadena. (The others are Pomona and Downey.)

I'm planning to offer a 0-1000 point limited bridge game on Monday evenings at about 7:15. It'll be a two-hour game of 18 boards, and the card fee will be $4 for regular games. There's also a weekly 499er game offered on Sunday afternoons at 3:15 for all 499ers in LA County (District 23). There's actually a lot of bridge to play.

With that in mind, I have a lot of tips and tricks about how to use BBO and play bridge online. There are a lot of non-obvious things that can make it easier and less daunting. I'll be able to share my screen, walk you through a game, and take questions.

I'd like to offer to have one on Monday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. We might be able to hold the meeting within the 40 minute limit for Zoom, or I'll just make a new meeting and carry on.

If there's interest from people who can't attend that time, I'll be happy to do a repeat on another day. Let me know what's good for you.

So I've really tossed out two things for you to consider:
For the Zoom seminar on playing bridge online, please send me a note and I'll send you the meeting link.

That's all I have for now! For students of the game who might enjoy some bridge practice, I'll be offering some online coaching and practice sessions based on the Audrey Grant Better Bridge series, using BBO. I'll send that information to my student email lists.

This email list doesn't have everyone who carried on playing in San Marino, so if you know of someone who'd be interested in this email but may not have received it, please feel free to pass it along for me. :)

Best regards,
Mojo
