It's a beautiful day but it is hard to notice the sunshine after the sad news we received today.  Our long-time friend, fellow bridge player and all-around good person, Ernie Wong, passed away over the weekend.  We are all saddened at this news but not too surprised.  The last time he played at Downey (and provided us with a delicious lunch), we were somewhat shocked at his fragile appearance.  We are so happy he was able to play with us one final time at our little club.  

Ernie was a good friend to the Downey Whittier BC and he was especially fond of Marcie.  He hosted many lovely luncheons for our club and was a faithful supporter as a player for several years.  We send our condolences to his many friends in the area and throughout the bridge world.  We are not aware of any plans for memorial services but will let you know if we hear any details. He will be missed by many.
