Hi! I wish I had better news regarding PPDVBC. My contact at ACBL was doing all he could to nudge BridgeBase Online to set up my director account, and it hasn't happened yet.

If I can get one this weekend, I'll try to hold games on Monday. I'll certainly let everyone know.

Regardless, one will come eventually, and we'll start holding games.

If you're not a regular on BBO, I highly recommend getting together with your partner and playing in some of the BBO games for practice. In the ACBL World section of the site, there are pairs and individual tournaments starting literally every few minutes.

Even the robot tournaments can be a good way to on BBO. They're not for everyone, but I have enjoyed playing with the robots.

If you and your partner have fewer than 500 masterpoints I highly recommend the weekly Sunday District 23 tournament at 3:15 p.m. Open to all District 23 players. (If you have a regular partner outside the district, drop me a note and they can play with you as a guest.)

Here's how to find that tournament (good practice for finding ours later):

Within two hours of game start (after 1:15 p.m. Sunday), log in to BBO
Select the Competitive section from the main menu
Select ACBL Virtual Clubs from the menu
Scroll down and look for the game titled "District 23 499er"

Pro tip: You can use the "Search" box in the upper right hand corner, and type "District 23" then Search.

Click on the tournament

Once you're in the tournament "lobby" (before the game starts), at the top of the screen you'll see options for Register, Details, Entries, and Partnership Desk. Visit each tab and you'll discover what they're all about.
