Those of you who played last Monday evening might recall that I mentioned we would play a slightly snappier game this week.

So be aware! We're going to play 6 minutes per board tonight, rather than 7.

It means we'll finish 18 minutes earlier than usual. That was the point for an evening game. :)

It also means that more boards will be finished by the BBO robots instead of the players at the table. That's what happens when you run out of time for a round.

Standard procedure for directors on BBO is to look at the table history and see if one pair took significant extra time, and award Average+/Average- to protect the pair that played on time.

Six minutes per board is the time given for most ACBL games on BBO, but I had many players here who enjoyed the extra time. I haven't really had an outcry either way for a while. :)

I think it makes sense for the evening games, though. Let me know what you think after the game.

(Truth be told: 6.5 minutes per board would be just about ideal, but BBO doesn't allow fractional minutes in the tournament setup.)

Best regards,
Mojo
