First ... I have a single looking for a partner tonight in
the 0-1000 game. Would someone like to play?
Second ... my fall Bridge Basics classes with PCC Extension
are live on their web site and mine. If you have friends who'd like
to learn to play bridge, the magic date is Tuesday evening, August
25. Send them this link: https://bridgemojo.com/classes-fall-2020 I
also have classes on competitive bidding and popular conventions.
They're all online, and all bargain priced!
Third ... I'm going to be doing some serious traveling over the
next few weeks.
My dad in Sarasota, Florida, has been in and out of the hospital the
past couple of weeks for treatment for his COPD. He's home right
now, getting therapy and hopefully recovering. My sister (who lives
in Scottsdale) is there right now helping him out. (Both of them are
COVID negative -- the COPD is an ongoing battle. Don't smoke!)
My sister needs a break, and I'm driving there to give her one. I'll
head out on Wednesday morning and should arrive by Sunday evening.
Not sure how long I'll be gone, but I'll be carrying a mobile
"online bridge director/teacher" studio with me: a laptop, a large
second screen, a microphone, and a bridge table and folding chair.
I'm getting some help from other BBO directors: Dave, Paula, and
hopefully others. I'm not planning to cancel any scheduled classes
or games at the moment, but "events occur." In 2020, theoretically,
I can do this from anywhere -- so I'm going to put it to the test
now.
Fourth ... in light of the above, tomorrow (Tuesday) evening will be
the final Zoom Bridge Social. I love getting to hang out
with the players who come for that, and I think you'd be surprised
how much fun it can be. Drop by and wish me luck on my cross-country
drive. :)
