Two of the five South players opted to open the South hand 2
♥. I can understand why
not -- it violates a few principles of preemptive bidding,
like having more high-card points outside the suit than in. It
does offer about 4-1/2 playing tricks, and the heart suit is
rich with good spot cards.
Of the two who opened the South hand in hearts, only one North
player took the jump to 4♥
and found the successful sacrifice.
Four tables played in 3NT making four or five, one played
in 4♥X down one for a top board.
Looking forward to spending the weekend playing bridge with all of
our friends!
Best regards,
Mojo
