Every Wednesday evening at 7:15 we get together to play some bridge,
then meet on Zoom to laugh or cry over the results. Jane and I
always join in with an adult beverage. :)
Last week we had four tables. If you're coming to play tonight, drop
me a note! I'll know to expect you. I usually have single
players looking for a partner. If you'd like to play but don't
have a partner, drop me a note!
Do you have a friend who's new to bridge? If you'd like to invite
someone to come play, I've added a web page on BridgeMojo.com that
explains a little about how to get an ACBL player number and a
Bridge Base Online account. Drop in here for more information:
I'm also working on a schedule for new beginning bridge classes
to start in a couple of weeks. More information shortly.
If you're new to our virtual bridge clubs, let me take a moment to
explain how to find our games. If you've been playing for a while,
this should work for you:
Log in to BridgeBase.com with your BBO ID. Ask your partner to
do the same.
From the home page, click on Competitive
Click on ACBL Virtual Clubs
Look for the "Pasadena Pomona Downey" game, and click on the
name of the game (not the host name)
In the Register form, fill in the text field with your
partner's BBO ID, and click Invite
Your partner will get a pop-up inviting them to play in the
game.
This only works within two hours of the game start time. That's when
new tournaments appear in the list.
Newer players may not see the "Pasadena Pomona Downey" game right
away. (It takes a few days for player numbers to trickle through the
system.) But you're still welcome to play! Here's the alternative
pathway:
From the BBO Home screen, click on Competitive
Click on All Tournaments
In the Search field in the upper right of the window, type
"Pasadena" (or just Pasa)
The Pasadena Pomona Downey game should then appear, and you
can register.
If you have trouble finding the game or registering to play,
give me a phone call at (626) 755-5415.
It's always best to register at least 10 minutes before the game if
you've played before. If it's a first try or a new partner, please
try to register at least 30 minutes before. That will give me time
to work out any problems that might come up.
If I know you're coming, I can watch out for you to arrive, and make
plans for the game movement and possible standby players. Please let
me know!
I'll send the Zoom link for tonight's after-party later this
morning!
