Dear friends,

I need to forewarn you of a stepping up of enforcing the A.R.C. membership policy, which you may experience tomorrow.

The Glendale Senior Center now requires that every player including first timers needs to pay the annual $10 fee to join the City of Glendale Recreation Department. When we join, we receive a bar coded tag for our key chain. Each time we visit the club we need to scan our tag at the front desk. This simple act gives the A.R.C. credit for our visits so they may receive more employee hours.

Tomorrow, a staff member will ask you if you have joined, and possibly to see your bar-coded tag. If you have not joined, please come 15 to 20 minutes early to take care of this, as they likely won't let you play until you are registered.

For most, this fee is only $10. If this is a problem, I will subsidize $5 of your fee. For the few of us under 60, the annual fee is higher, $25.

Please understand the necessity of complying. If we are considered A.R.C. clients, we do not pay rent. This in turn always our regular game card fees to be kept at $5, which  is important since parking costs about $3.00 with validation.

To those of you were surprised by this in the last two weeks, I apologize. I received no forewarning of the new policy enforcement. I appreciate your continued support. Please ask me or one of of our Unit members if you have any questions.

I hope we can take care of this quickly tomorrow, so we can focus on what we love to do, playing bridge.

Thank you all,
Adam Barron
