Bridge classes for 2018
It's a new year, and a lot of folks are already signing
up for my classes through PCC Extension. If you're
interested in the later classes, you might want to grab a
seat early. I'll give a little introduction here; the full
schedule and lesson plans are on my bridge class web site:

Monday Night game
The Monday night bridge game is going dark for three
Mondays for the holidays, plus I'm travelling to Sea
Island, Georgia, to direct games for Audrey Grant at her
festival there Jan. 6-11.
The game will reopen on January 15. (My wedding
anniversary, which just shows what a special woman I'm
partnered with!)
The game has been a big surprise for me. I had hoped to
have four or five tables on Monday nights. Instead, I've
been having to buy tables, bidding boxes, and scoring
devices to keep up with the demand. The first three games
averaged 13 tables each. I'm ordering a couple more of
everything next week.
LA Holiday Regional
This is the first year for L.A. to host a regional bridge
tournament during Christmas week. End-of-the-year
tournaments are a little bit special in bridge.
I just added a feature article to the web site: the New
Player Guide to the LA Regional. Big tournaments are
great for newer players. I hope to see you there!
Best regards, and best of the holiday season!
