Bridge classes start again in
September
Fall 2017
This fall I begin anew with a two series of classes from
Audrey Grant's acclaimed Better Bridge series.
In September and October, I'll feature Bridge Basics
1 - An Introduction on five Wednesday evenings
starting September 13.
Bridge Basics 2 - Competitive Bidding will follow
immediately after, starting on October 18 for five
Wednesdays.
Bridge Basics 1 is the starting course for brand new
bridge players. If you've been through the class once,
you'll be amazed how much you discover on a repeat visit.
If you are already a regular club player, you will
especially enjoy the Competitive Bidding series. This
class will help you both find your own great contracts and
make mayhem of the opponents' auctions. It's all about
getting the best score for your partnership.
Enroll online at PCC Extension. Here are the links:
Or call PCC Extension at (626) 585-7608
Each course is $65 plus $10 for the book. Classes are
held at Arcadia High School from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Our
classroom is very close to lots of on-campus parking.

My trip to Toronto
I had a great week at the Summer NABC in Toronto. If you
drop by the BridgeMojo
Facebook page you can see pictures and comments.
While there I spent two days with Audrey Grant at her
teacher convention held with Seabourn Cruise Line. A great
time to snap a selfie with Audrey!
Oh yes, the Nationals in San
Diego!
This might sound odd, but the best place to enjoy bridge
as a new player is at the North American Bridge
Championships. Really!
The NABC is held three times a year, in various locations
around the country. This November the NABC comes to San
Diego's Manchester Grand Hyatt from Nov. 23 through Dec.
3.
Every day will feature bridge games for new and
intermediate players and celebrity speakers. Check out the
full schedule here
at acbl.org. Jane and I will be there most of the
week, playing and enjoying San Diego.
And with that ...
Jane and I are hitting the road tomorrow for the Great
American Eclipse of 2017. We've had a spot reserved since
last year at the Idaho Dunes RV Park, a little north of
Idaho Falls. It should be good for a little over two
minutes of totality.
Here in L.A. you'll have a great partial eclipse, over
60%. You don't have to do anything special to see it, just
walk under some trees. You'll see little images of the
eclipse all over the ground. The tree leaves make great
pinhole cameras!
See you all soon!
