Hi all! We have a nice size class for Bridge 101 starting Monday afternoon.
I've heard from these folks who have joined the class:
* Sandra Marsh
* Rosalind Duhon
* Niki McIntyre
* Rosa Gutierrez
* Amy Muscoplat
I have not heard from:
* Ingela Keiler
* Pat Lombardo
I'll take the silence as a "no thanks" after tomorrow, and remove them
from the class email list.
I need you to do two things before we start on Monday afternoon:
1. Register for your personal Zoom link to the class
<https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZAvdeqhqzspGNUNuV5_iDF1PdPawH-NRz…>
2. Visit How to join bridge class online
<https://bridgemojo.com/how-to-join-class-online>
The videos there will give you some tips about arranging Zoom and your
browser window for playing bridge in class.
On Monday morning, I will send two emails:
1. Your link to the virtual bridge table (Shark Bridge) that will open
in a browser (which will not work until class time)
2. Resend your personal Zoom link for the meeting
Be sure you have the Zoom client installed on your laptop or PC, and
have your copy of Bridge Basics 1 handy!
Finally, be ready to have some fun! :)
If you have any questions, by all means email or telephone (626) 755-5415.
Best regards,
Mojo

We have a bridge class starting on Monday afternoon! Are you in?
I'm your bridge teacher, Morris Jones, but all my friends call me Mojo.
Read more about me here <https://bridgemojo.com/aboutMojo>.
This is /Bridge101/. We're starting at the beginning! We have a small
interested group, and we're going to meet online using Zoom and an
amazing /virtual bridge table/. No bridge experience required.
By the end of the first lesson, you will know and practice all of the
mechanics of the game of bridge.
After the fourth lesson, you will have practiced the fundamentals of
modern /Standard American/ bidding, the most ubiquitous bidding language
in the game. You will learn how to create extra tricks during the play
of the hand.
In the fifth and sixth classes, you'll be playing bridge hands with your
friends from class, exercising all of the principles from the first lessons.
You'll be ready to join bridge games with friends and family, as well as
fascinating new friends you haven't met yet, waiting for you to take a
seat at the table.
Not only that, but learning to play online in a live class is
entertaining, and /dramatically effective/.
Are you in? Let me know as soon as you can! Here are the details:
* Six lessons: Monday and Wednesday, 1:45 - 3:45 p.m., March 1, 3, 8,
10, 15, 17.
* Course fee $120 (I will send an invoice)
* Accompanying textbook (not included) /Bridge Basics 1 - An
Introduction/ by Audrey Grant
* I usually have class recordings available for you to keep and review!
What is it really like? See the videos here: How to join bridge class
online <https://bridgemojo.com/how-to-join-class-online>
Tech requirements:
* You need to have a reliable broadband internet connection
* A Mac or Windows laptop or desktop is recommended
* A working webcam and microphone, and some experience with Zoom meetings
* It helps to be comfortable resizing windows and switching between
applications
* Two devices are a possibility: a small screen (phone?) for Zoom, and
a large screen (laptop is easiest) for bridge.
Please reply to this email as soon as you can. We'll make arrangements
to get you the book (you may already have it) and we'll get started on
Monday afternoon!
Best regards,
Mojo
