I assume an over is a player over 750 master points? I think this ceiling is counter productive as the target should be far less.  The emphasis should be on the newer players and the players that have not moved on since taking beginning lessons several years ago and are seeking ways to move on.   We should encourage them to move on past the beginning level.  There are so many players at the Arcadia Bridge Center like this. I do agree that the “Under” players should have a maximum of 449 points, as these are the true novice players. My experience with this event in other units was that there was an imbalance with more novice players signing up. Another question: do experienced players sign up for this event with a requirement of so many points or are they asked by board members to participate.
