Election Party and Board Meeting Info
by Lisa Walker 03 Mar '24

03 Mar '24

Dear Board and Board-to-Be, Our first Board meeting as a new Board will be this Monday, March 4 at 7PM via Zoom. Hopefully MoJo can set up the Zoom and send out the link that day. At that meeting, we will take care of the following business: 1. Appointment of Officers 2. Appointment of Committee Chairs 3. Committee Members I will be sending out an agenda on Friday. IN the meantime, I have attached the By Laws and the Standing Rules to familiarize you with the requirements of each position. We will have nominations from the floor for the officers and committee chairs and then the full board will vote on each one. If you have any questions ahead of time, I will try and answer them. I would request during the meeting, since there will be 12 of us, that you mute yourself unless you are speaking to the group or we are taking a vote. Current Board, I will be resending you the minutes from the last meeting along with hopefully a financial report (Miriam??). You may notice that I have not discussed the Amended ByLaw s. I have decided to pull these off the table for now because it is in conflict with our current election procedures and i want the new Board to correct that problem.

attendance for unit game
by Morris Jones 29 Feb '24

I reconciled the list with Miriam this morning. We currently have 27 pairs (13.5 tables) signed up. It's fully reasonable to expect that to climb to 15-16. Notable among the list are several pairs of new players from my classes and novice games, including one who may be playing in their first duplicate. We're going to emphasize welcoming behavior, and particularly NOT CRITICIZING PARTNER during the game. And I'm talking about the A flight players. (I need to have a conversation with Madhu.) All of you should have accounts on RSVPBridge, so you can see the attendance list at this link: https://rsvpbridge.com/events/5604 Mojo -- build message Morris "Mojo" Jones mojo(a)PasadenaBridgeClub.com https://PasadenaBridgeClub.com <https://pasadenabridgeclub.com> Pasadena Bridge Club <https://pasadenabridgeclub.com>

OK, I have heard from 5 out of 7 in support of this so let’s donate $500 to the District Regional and I will tell Mike Marcucci to make his poster. Thanks all. Fwd: Unit Day
by Morris Jones 17 Feb '24

17 Feb '24

Here's the thing Lisa was trying to forward ... Mike Marcucci is suggesting that we contribute $500 to the summer Long Beach Regional to designate one day of the regional "Unit 559 Day." If we do, he'll step up with a wall printout of pictures of all 510 Life Masters who are members of the unit. Discuss. :) Mojo -------- Forwarded Message -------- Subject: Re: Unit Day Date: Fri, 16 Feb 2024 08:20:01 -0800 From: Lisa Walker <lisawalkerlac(a)gmail.com> To: Michael Marcucci <nstarmgm(a)att.net> CC: Morris Jones <mojo(a)pasadenabridgeclub.com>, miratpf(a)aol.com, johndjones44(a)yahoo.com I see time is of the essence.
